Serving the Community, the World and Lionism since 1947
============= TANEYTOWN LIONS - "WE SERVE" ================
The Taneytown Lions Club was organized June 24, 1947, sponsored by the Union Bridge Lions and chartered September 9, 1947 with 29 charter members. The club continues to serve the community with many service projects, donations to worthy causes, and help in times of need. We support Lions number one priority of Sight Conservation and aid to the visually impaired with significant contributions to the Maryland Eye Bank, Lions Vision Research Center (LVRC), and Leader Dog Program. We have helped many needy individuals locally with eye exams and glasses. Lions everywhere are proud to proclaim that 100% of all proceeds from fundraisers are donated. Administrative costs are absorbed by dues and internal club activities.
RLAL is a service day for all clubs in our district which will take place at each Carroll County Library on Saturday, April 6 from 1 to 4 pm. All 5 clubs in our zone will be participating at the Taneytown Library. The service day is intended to include both Lions and non-Lions of all ages from our community working together on a variety of service projects. Students may earn service hours for their participation.
Please join us on that day for a day to give back to your community.
Planned service projects at the Taneytown Library include:
- Making “Get Well” cards for kids and seniors in the hospital or residents of Lorien.
- Packing “Care Bags” for homeless.
- Clean and pack donated eyeglasses.
- Collect donated food items.
- Appreciation bags for first responders.
- Making dog toys.
- Cutting donated grocery bags for making for the homeless.
